Famous Starship bridges will be available in Star Trek Online
Star Trek fans will be happy to know that Star Trek Online WILL include famous Starship bridges/interiors when the game launches on February 2, 2010.
The reason that fans will be glad to hear about this, outside of how awesome it is to see these environments up-close and personal, is due to the fact that develper Crypstic Studios was originally NOT going to include interiors of the most well-known Star Trek ships at launch.
But thankfully they changed their mind. Speaking to Yahoo, executive producer Craig Zinkievich told why.
“We didn’t want to have interiors at launch. We thought it was just a little bit too much. We really wanted to make sure we delivered a really deep experience, but your bridge not being in the game, it really felt like a hole in the game, and it was just something that we had to put in.”
The bridges that you will be able to choose range from the Enterprises to the Defiant from Deep Space Nine, but will mostly serve as “social hubs” where you can speak with your NPC command crew and other captains.
