Dragon Age Origins downloadable content sells over 1 million

Dragon Age: Origins downloadable content sells 1 million
Looks like Dragon Age: Origins is a hit in every way possible for BioWare and EA.

Electronic Arts has revealed that Dragon Age Origins DLC has already made them “well past $1 million”! And the game was only just released last week! The DLC in question includes the Stone Prisoner expansion, the $7 Warden’s Keep, as well as the premium Dragon Age themes for Xbox Live.

That’s quite a lot of coinage there. To the point where DLC has become a real source of continued revenue for some of these companies.

EA also reiterated the company’s intent to support the game with new add-ons for an entire year after launch. Which is definitely good news for all those people who bought the game.

In other digital download news, EA stated that they’ve had some success with their downloadable games. The most successful being the DICE-developed WWII shooter Battlefield 1943 which sold over 1.2 million units between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
