Home Sweet Home is the final Assassins Creed 2 Developer Diary before the game’s release exactly one week from now on November 17th, 2009 for PS3 and Xbox 360 (PC is coming in 2010).

In this specific behind-the-scenes video, we get to see scriptwriter Jeffery Yohalem and art director Laura De Young in action as they talk about the storyline for the game, the Animus, and some of the new abilities that you can tap into in this sequel to the hit original Assassins Creed.

This new ability allows you to tap into the Animus to access a database while standing in front of certain buildings or people. You can even do this while taking part in certain gameplay events.

Here is the 6th developer diary.

In addition to the release of the game, a novel based on Assassin’s Creed 2 will also be released on November 26 entitled “Assassin’s Creed: Renaissance”. The book is written by author Oliver Bowden.

“Penguin are hugely excited to be publishing the novelization to the second Assassin’s Creed game,” Alex Clarke, the Penguin editorial director, told Play.tm. “This partnership presents at last a way for traditional book-publishing to cross-over with the ever growing and increasingly exciting world of gaming media.”

What the heck! PC isn’t coming out til march? Since when? Why the heck isn’t it coming out next week like the consoles. This is like taking my Christmas, and just ripping it up, burning it, drowning it, decapitating it, marinating it, posterizing it, destroying it, pissing on it, cancelling it, and nuking it. I mean come on! If MW2 didn’t come out today, I’d be pretty down in the dumps…

@jjpriest25: Sucks that you didn’t know about the PC delay yet. Ubisoft claims they wanted to give the PC version a few extra months to make it the best it can be for the platform.

It might be an excuse to increase console sales. But on the other hand consoles don’t have a thousand different specs to take into account, just one per console.

yeah.. I was also upset about all the things I felt was wrong with the MW2 release. Steam has never set well with me–neither does taking away my strafing. Ya I totally understand why the game is going to take longer, since if you compare a pc to a console, I’m sure it WILL look better, but I just wish I hadn’t missed that memo.

Plus the whole fable 2 not coming to PC–all my hopes and dreams have been disolving over the past few years.

Long live PC gaming.

I’M getting MY copy OF IT TOMORROW
