
Although Nintendo announced that hardware sales had declined 35% year over year from April to September of 2009, there was also some amazing numbers as far as software is concerned.
The most eye-popping number is for Wii Sports Resort, which was Nintendo’s big summer game. That title sold an astounding 7 million copies worldwide (6.97 to be exact) since it’s release.
What’s even more impressive are the numbers regarding the original Wii Sports game. That game has now passed the 50 million mark with 50.5 million copies sold, 5 million of which came during the April-September 2009 timeframe.
Overall Nintendo had 12 of it’s Wii and DS titles surpass the one-million units sold mark during the six-month period of April-September.

Pokemon Platinum - 2.63 million (6.39 million LTD)
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver - 2.27 million (2.27 million LTD)
New Super Mario Bros. - 1.49 million (19.9 million LTD)
Mario Kart DS - 1.48 million (16.1 million LTD)
Tomodachi Collection - 1.45 million (1.45 million LTD)
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box* - 1.26 million (1.26 million LTD)
