Captain America, Thor video games based on movies coming from Sega

Marvel fans are in for a treat as Thor and Captain America videogames, based on the upcoming movies starring both characters, are in development for Sega for release in 2011 alongside the films.
The Thor movie releases in May 2011 and stars Chris Hemsworth (who played Captain Kirk’s father in the recent Star Trek movie update) as the title character of Thor and Anthony Hopkins playing as Odin. The movie is being directed by Kenneth Brannagh (Hamlet, Frankenstein). Nothing else is known about the videogame adaptation at this time (still too early), but this will be the FIRST time that the Thor character has ever had his own videogame.
The Captain America film is entitled “The First Avenger: Captain America” and the game will hit store shelves alongside the movie in July 2011. The cast for the film, much less details on the game, have yet to be revealed. However we know it will certainly be much better than the direct-to-video 1990 Captain America film. That much is assured.
Videogame-wise, this will not be the first time that Captain America has starred in a game. Previously his game “Captain America and the Avengers” was based on an arcade beat-em-up that was ported to NES, Genesis, Game Boy and other platforms following the success of the arcade game.
In addition to these titles, Sega will also most likely develop a videogame based on the upcoming “Avengers” movie which is set for release in Summer 2012.
And those aren’t the only Marvel movies either. There’s also a little film called Spider-Man 4, which is set for release on May 6, 2011, and will likely get another Activision videogame based on the film (since Activision has secured the digital rights to Spider-Man videogames through 2017).
