Dinosaurs are cool! So we here at Video Games Blogger are supporting Jurassic: The Hunted, a new budget game from Activision which will be released on November 3rd for Wii, PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 at a price point of $30 for PS2 and $40 on the current-gen platforms.
As VGB readers may recall, I am a big fan of dinosaur games and loved the N64 dino adventures, as you can read in my Turok: Dinosaur Hunter review and my Turok 2: Seeds of Evil review. Sadly I didn’t get around to playing the last Turok Disney game, but Ferry is a big fan.
So this new dinosaur first-person shooter caught our eye when it was announced only two weeks before its release date. Which means that Activision could care less about this game and probably won’t advertise it, they just want to make a quick buck. However the premise sounds cool, in the game players will travel back in time and use 13 different weapons to survive 12 levels of the dino horde.
So what’s so great about Jurassic: The Hunted? Let’s count the ways . . .
* dinosaurs
* DinoSAURS
* DINOSAURS!
* You can SHOOT the dinosaurs!
* First-person shooting action!
* Great graphics for a budget game with an interesting style.
* Cheap price! Especially if you buy it on PS2!
* If it sells enough copies, we can expect MORE dinosaur action in the inevitable sequel!
* If they make Jurassic: The Hunted 2, it’ll only be more improved!
* DINOOOOOSAURS!
Okay you get the point. But it’s a valid one, if this game sells, we can expect some more polished dinosaur action in the sequel. And who doesn’t love dinosaurs?
Key features include:
* Combat Encounters include Arena Combats, Boss Fights and Fortifications Battles. Use 13 weapons across 12 levels as you fight for survival!
* 13 Dinosaur and creature types to hunt, fight, and conquer.
* Unique Adrenaline Burst cinematic feature allows you to visualize and then target an opponent¿s weak points in slow motion.
* Sci-Fi Story Mode – Pulled back in time through the Bermuda Triangle, you’re lost in the brutal age of the dinosaurs.
* 40+ Achievement and Collectibles mark your victories.
Update: The first 20 minutes of the game shown in this new video reveal the gameplay and the fantastically cheesy cutscenes.
OMG! I love dinos too!
You know how long I’ve been waiting for this game?! Since this summer when they listed it…I’ve been telling everyone about it! It looks good to. Screw Dragon Age and Modern Gayfare 2!
Dinosaurs are cool! PS2 is not!
I’m dying to play this too. I haven’t finished Turok on Xbox 360 yet, but that’s a lot of fun since I don’t mind my games a little rough on the edges. Walking around in a Jurassic world is totally worth it.
I just wish they would remake that Jurassic Park game called Trespasser, only this time using Valve’s Source engine. That would rule!
I have heard a lot about this game and your blog has now convinced me to buy this one. There is a website Fat Gamer (http://www.fatgamer.com/) where you get a really good collection of games at disconted prices. I will look out for this particular game on the site and I am sure I will be adding more details to your review next time.
so cool ilike dinosaur………
