Why Lumines isn’t on PSN for PSP Go yet

Lumines is notably absent from the PSP Go’s PlayStation Store, which would seem odd because the game was one of the most popular titles for the original PSP upon launch.
The reason for this, according to developer Q Entertainment, is due to licensing issues dealing with the music in the game. To quote from a tweet of theirs:
“We would love to bring Lumines/Lumines II to the PSN store,” Q’s rep said, “but there are complications, music licensing, was published by Namco, etc. However, That said, we’re obviously looking into it.
” Q went on to single out the songs “Shinin’” and “Lights” as requiring new licenses for digital distribution, and clarified that it would be Bandai Namco’s decision to publish the first Lumines on PSN, since it published the game on UMD (in Japan).
Apparently since so many of these early PSP games had a lot of licensed music, it makes re-releasing the games difficult, since other publishers may now hold the license for that music. Which is a shame, a game like Lumines definitely needs to be on the PSP Go store.
Hopefully the game will be re-released sooner rather than later.
