Super Street Fighter 4 release date is April 27, 2010

Super Street Fighter 4 has a release date of March 23 for Xbox 360 and PS3 according to retailer GameStop via their online page for the title. Update: Capcom later reported all their Q1 titles have been moved into Q2 of 2010. So we won’t see Super Street Fighter 4 until April 27, 2010.

What’s more, the game was also confirmed to be at a nearly budget price point at $40. $20 cheaper than a normal new game costs. This is good news as some people thought that full-price was too much to pay for what amounts to basically an expansion pack for the title. People were particularly upset when they found out the game would be released at retail instead of as downloadable content. But the $40 price tag should put some of those people at ease.

This updated version of Street Fighter 4 (which will be released a little over a year after the original version) will include around 8 new characters (including classic favorites like Dee Jay and T. Hawk, as well as newcomers like Juri), updated online functionality, rebalanced gameplay, and a mysterious “bonus” for people who already own Street Fighter 4.

Although the release date of March 23, 2010 hasn’t been confirmed by Capcom, it seems like a pretty logical guess that it is the actual release date.

I can’t wait!! I wonder what the bonus is since I already have SFIV…maybe a $20 mail-in rebate? jk I wonder if they added new ultra combos for the other characters?

Heh I know how you feel, I actually sold SFIV to rebuy SSFIV next year.

I’ll create a page soon to keep track of all the new characters and combos as they get announced in the coming months.

New Street Fighter game? Awsome! P.S Ferry, I know that SF4 aint going anywhere, I’m the kinda human being that’ll get the same football game every year. Lol!

I wonder if we can still use the custom clothing pack for the super street fighter 4 version? I don’t want to rebuy it online for 13 bucks. That will really sucks. Also 8 new characters? Not including the new one from SF4 right? I know there’s Hawk,Dee Jay and juri. Hope the other 5 is not from the SF4 version…

Just a little FYI – I’m 99% sure this game is NOT coming out on PC. That’s sad, because I bought the PC version of SF IV and have had a lot of fun with it, but I think I saw an interview on gamespot where one of the developers stated that there would’t be a PC version.

Bummer…

To be honest though, I wouldn’t buy this game for $40 even if it was coming out on PC. If they were selling it as DLC for a lower price, however, that would be a different story.

Originally Gamestop listed the game for PC too, which it later turned out isn’t the case. I’ve removed the PC references now, thanks for pointing it out.

I think the extra we should get as having streetfighter 4 is a new character!! This will boost thier sales if they thought about it. HAHa. But seriously it would be awesome to have a character that noone else has. Personally I think it should be the anti christ character, GILL.
