Jack Black and Tim Schafer talk about Brutal Legend
Legendary videogame designer Tim Schafer talked about his latest game, Brutal Legend, on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

You don’t often get to see Tim Schafer interviewed. From the man who worked on both The Secret of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango, as well as creating Psychonauts with his own development company Double Fine, I thought it was worth checking out. Tim talks about what inspired him to come up with the concept for Brutal Legend and the process that led to the seeking of actor/comedian/musician Jack Black to voice the main character in Brutal Legend.

This talk show interview was aired on NBC two weeks ago and the game’s in stores now. Take a look:

A bit of random trivia for you. Kid Jack Black appeared in an 1982 commercial for the Activision’s Atari 2600 game Pitfall!

Man that is so cool! Major props to Jimmy Fallon for actually being the first show to really bring gamers into the fold. It was awesome seeing Tim Schafer on and hearing him speak. I wish he would’ve gotten more time to talk about meeting the other famous band members who are in the game and such.

I still think Jimmy is quite nervous during the show and it comes off a bit awkward but WHO CARES! I’m sure he’ll get better. I’m just happy that videogames are finally getting their due in the mainstream in TV land.
