A new studio called Moonshot Games has formed, made up of three ex-Bungie veterans.

This new company will focus on creating downloadable titles for upcoming, unnamed systems. Although the company plans on putting their development prestige into smaller packaged titles, that doesn’t mean that theses games will be of any lesser quality.

Moonshot Games references Shadow Complex for the Xbox 360 and Flower for the PlayStation 3 as the type of quality that Moonshot Games is aiming for with their future downloadable titles for Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, WiiWare or other platforms.

Behind the new studio are: Rob Stokes, who designed Halo 1 and Halo 2 and was lead designer on Halo 3, Michel Bastien, who was producer and lead producer on Halo 1 PC, Halo 2, and Halo 3 (respectively), and Damian Isla, who worked on AI and lead gameplay engineering for the Halo games.

I think that downloadable titles are a really cool new aspect of the industry, and it’s always great to know that high-quality talent is working on future titles. Hopefully that’ll mean more amazing games like the aforementioned Shadow Complex, Braid and PixelJunk Eden, et al.
