Planetside 2 is in development at SOE
Planetside 2 has been practically confirmed with a number of developments.
The first piece of exciting news about a sequel came from an e-mail survey from publisher Sony Online Entertainment which revealed that they “plans to expand the Planet Side universe with another game.”
Then it was discovered that Sony Online Entertainment has registered the domain name for “www.planetside2.com” on September 21st.
The email sought help from “loyal player(s) and experienced shooter fan(s)” in designing this next game. “Don’t worry about the original PlanetSide, it isn’t going anywhere,” the mail assures.
In response to this news, the CEO of SOE, John Smedley, said “PlanetSide fans will be happy. We have big things planned in the next 12 months. We’re working on something new that’s really cool.”
So that about settles it! Be prepared for more first-person MMO action in Planetside 2!
