Some kind of Street Fighter IV update is coming soon. And it will either be a new “Super Street Fighter IV” version of the game or simply additional downloadable-content that will add two new characters to the roster.

Juri Street Fighter 4 new character screenshotThe characters though were already leaked to the Internet. They consist of original “Super Street Fighter II” Indian fighter T-Hawk, and a female character named Juri.

Check out a new screenshot of T-Hawk performing a classic move above, and Juri to your right.

Although these are only rumors, either one of them could come true. And we will supposedly find out tomorrow, September 29th, according to a teaser site.

I’m pretty sure Capcom will be releasing this as DLC. But then again, I suppose it would be a money-maker for them to have an all-new version of Street Fighter 2 at retail sitting in boxes for people to pick up. And a “Super” version has been highly speculated and will supposedly contain a host of new characters. So either is likely. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

UPDATE: Capcom just emailed us to say they will release a disc-only Super Street Fighter 4 in early 2010.
“Super Street Fighter IV, the ultimate vision of Street Fighter, will be coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Spring 2010. The follow-up to the critically acclaimed Street Fighter IV will further redefine the fighting game genre with classic 2D Street Fighter fighting action, a host of new and returning characters, more advanced online gameplay, new ultra combos and much more.

Super Street Fighter IV features the full roster of 25 characters from Street Fighter IV such as Ryu, Ken, Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte and Rufus, while adding about eight characters new to the world of Street Fighter IV. The impressive new roster includes classic combatants from previous Street Fighter games like T. Hawk as well as all-new characters such as the mysterious and deadly female fighter, Juri.

Hmm.. you do have a point, however, although the game sounds more like an update with additional fine tuning and new characters, keeping the disc does sound obsolete. Still, I like the fact that we’re gonna get it priced at a what a DLC would originally cost, in a separate disc which is pretty sweet :3
Although, this may sound like a waste of money for many, die hearted fans will definitely purchase this even as part of a collection, especially those of us who grew up with the game.

Can’t wait to main T-Hawk, ever since the game came out before I got my hands on it I always wondered if T-Hawk was in it. Although I was glad Vega was, now I know T-Hawk is coming back on this one, so I’m psyched. :3

    Thanks Capcom
and thank you Josh for the update :)
