Netflix movie renting/streaming coming to all consoles . . . eventually

Netflix for PS3 and Wii is definitely a possiblity . . . . just not for now.
This according to Netflix head honcho Reed Hastings, who said that although Netflix is CURRENTLY exclusive to the Xbox 360, their plan is to eventually bring the rental/streaming service to ALL consoles. And not just consoles, but any device they can get their money-making hands on.
To quote Reed in an interview:
“Eventually we want to be on all the game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the Internet TVs. So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts. Currently our Xbox 360 deal is exclusive and we haven’t characterized it more than that.”
If you are a movie lover then the Xbox 360′s exclusive deal with Netflix is definitely a sweet one, as it allows users of both services to stream any of thousands of movies with their Xbox 360, and even watch movies with a group (or party) of friends at the same time. You can even add movies to your queue from a computer so it’ll be ready on your 360 when you get home.
But it’ll be a great day when this feature is offered on ALL consoles. Wii users in particular deserve some movie lovin’!
