Update: The game was officially announced at Sony’s TGS 09 Press Conference as “Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition”. The biggest change will be full implementation of the PS3 Motion Wand Controller. Graphically it is the same game except for the cursor on the screen from the Wand which reflects your movements. The game is played by using the Wand in one hand and a Dual Shock 3 in the other.

It will also have other additional content as requested by fans, but there were no details about that announced. The game will ship in Spring of 2010 in Japan and may be a launch game for the Wand. This may also mean that it is a PS3-exclusive.

Other launch titles that will also support the Wand include: LittleBigPlanet, EyePet, Flower, Pain, High Velocity Bowling “and more”.

Original Story:
Resident Evil 5: Director’s Cut was inadvertently revealed by Patricia Ja Lee, the voice actress for Jill Valentine’s character in the Resident Evil series.

You can hear her mention it herself in this video interview, where she discusses the process she went through for Resident Evil 5, voice acting in general and her own interests. Skip to about 7 minutes into the video for the “exclusive”.

What’s funny is that the game HAS NOT been announced yet. So she could be wrong, maybe it’s downloadable content? But most likely she is correct and we will hear the official announcement soon during the Tokyo Game Show 2009 which is on-going.
