Hardly any information on this new game has been released, but Monster Finder will be a first.

It is the first game that is being developed exclusively and specifically for the Nintendo DSi, and therefore won’t work on normal “DS Phat” or “DS Lite” systems. Why would that be, you ask?

Because this game actually uses the camera function of the DSi as a fundamental part of it’s gameplay.

As you might have gleamed from the title, the game is another monster-capturing game in the style of Pokemon in which you use the cameras of the DSi to capture monsters. How exactly this is done wasn’t revealed, but I imagine that the game may actually have you take pictures of objects that it then turns into monsters. Which I think, would be AWESOME.

The game will include over 100 monsters to track down. No other details were revealed other than a Winter 2009 Japanese release date.

WTF? So if you put it in the DS Phat or Lite, I take it’ll work, but you won’t be able to control it. mcjakeqcool

As awesome as the Gameboy Camera was, it was hideous in quality. I doubt that counts as an upgrade.

Also, there is no easy way to add a camera device that fluidly works with the system like the built in DSi one does. It would take a software upgrade and everything.
