Hudson has announced that they are reviving their classic caveman hero Bonk, with an all-new multiplatform downloadable game entitled “Bonk: Brink of Destruction” for WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. For release in early 2010.

The game brings the classic platforming series to the modern age wth all-new contemporary graphics while maintaining the side-scrolling gameplay that the series is known for.

In addition to new food and items, Bonk will also have no less than 8 different forms he can morph into as he embarks to save the world from an impending comet; In a quest that will take him to the center of the planet.

The game will also include both online cooperative play as well as Downloadable Content.

If you don’t know of Bonk (who started out as a mascot of sorts for NEC/Hudson’s TurboGrafx-16 system), you can catch yourself up to the series with the Wii Virtual Console where Bonk’s Adventure, Bonk’s Revenge, Bonk 3: Bonk’s Big Adventure are available for downloadable purchase. As well as the spin-off titles Air Zonk and Super Air Zonk: Rockabilly-Paradise.
