Gears of War 2 Game of the Year Edition arrives on September 1, 2009

Epic has announced Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition for release on September 1, 2009 for Xbox 360.

For those who don’t have the game, it will be a great deal at a cheaper price of $40.

It includes the full game of Gears of War 2 along with all of the downloadable content packs released so far: Flashback, Combustible, Dark Corners and Snowblind. This adds to 19 additional multiplayer maps from the “All Fronts Collection” and the extra “Road to Ruin” chapter for the single-player campaign.

Kotaku is also reporting that the game comes with a DLC download card, which allows you to download the extra content from the Xbox Live Marketplace for free. It’s not actually on the disc.

Either way this is a great deal for those few gamers who have yet to pick the game up.

I happen to be one of the few who never got around to picking this game up. I was moving at the time, and it just somehow slipped through the cracks.

Great to hear about the pricetag, and the DLC card, though.

I also like that it’s coming out tomorrow.

That’s a good deal! The extra “Road to Ruin” chapter sounds like something I’d like to try sometime, but I need to dig up my copy of Gears 2 first.

It’s out today. Surely it can’t suck more then the standard edition Gears of War 2. Just so aware, I don’t hate gears, just gears 2. mcjakeqcool
