Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon coming to DS in Japan
A 3rd Rune Factory game has been announced for DS in Japan.
The game will play out like all the other titles in the Harvest Moon spin-off series with farming, adventure and romance, but with the added ability to turn main character Maisu into monsters once you’ve found the “Transformation Belt”.
Here’s some other details on the game:
* Feed monsters to have them become your friend, and then you can take them back to your farm to have them produce Fur and Eggs.
* Active Seed System allows seeds to automatically grow into full plants.
* A few Active Seeds types include: Pumpkin-like “Jack” is used to suck up monsters and dish out damage, Leaf-like “Haslider” can help you float on water, Flower-like “Mizubasou” creates water.
* Full cast of characters announced thus far include: Shia – The young girl that takes care of you after you fall unconscious at the start of the game. Touna – A girl that works at the weapons shop, but never talks. Chocola – Works at the town restaurant and aspires to be a great chef. And Marion, an apprentice witch that serves as the town nurse. She’s friends with Chocola, who was Marion’s guinea pig for tests at one time.

Japanese gamers who pre-order the game will receive a bonus art book and drama CD. It releases in Japan on October 22, 2009.
