PSP Minis offer bite-sized games for download. Digital Comics also coming
At the GamesCom 2009 Sony conference, the publisher put much more muscle behind the PSP with a ton of new announcements.
First up are “PSP Minis”. These are super small, bite-sized 100MB or lower videogames that can be downloaded for a cheap price and will launch alongside the PSP Go on October 1st, 2009. Naturally, there will be many a casual game in the mix including Tetris and Sodoku games. But there will also be full on titles that will feel more like real games, such as Burn Zombie Burn 2D.
Games revealed so far include: Fieldrunners, Puzzle Scape, Alien Havok, Sudoku, Pacman Championship Edition, Championship Manager, Burn Zombie Burn 2D, Funky Punch, Breakquest, and Melody Bloxx.
Sony expects to have over 50 Minis available for download from the PlayStation Store by the end of 2009, including games from big publishers like Electronic Arts and Ubisoft.

Additionally, Sony has announced that Digital Comics are coming to the PSP! These comic books can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store and will include a full line-up of Marvel titles, with additional comic publishers to be added later on. Pricing and other details have yet to be announced, but this will definitely be cool for comic fans! Hopefully they’ll add manga as well. I hear that stuff is popular.
