Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has a release date of December 8, 2009 according to Konami. The PSP and PS2 versions are dated for January 12, 2010.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a new re-imagining of the first Silent Hill. It takes the original, and much like Resident Evil Remake did, alters it in a way that stays true to the original while also offering an entirely new game for those that played the 1999 PS1 original.
The game is abundant with innovative new features, including a “Psyche Profile” element, which monitors the way the player approaches the game and alters the game accordingly. Players begin by answering various questions from a psychiatrist, and these replies and their reactions in the game result in their individual psyche profile – which affects various situations in the game.
The player guides Harry Mason as he attempts to unravel the mystery of his missing daughter, Cheryl. The game watches the player and adapts according to the psyche profile. The result is a clever twist to the game’s terrifying moments – depending individually on the player and his actions.
Here is a gameplay video of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories in action followed by an official trailer. I think it looks amazing. The graphics are fantastic too.
