Will Steven Spielberg produce the Halo: The Fall of Reach movie?

Steven Spielberg may be taking over the reigns of the Halo movie from Peter Jackson according to IESB.
Citing studio executives and others that are closely tied to the project who have confirmed it, they say that Steven Spielberg has reportedly been “blown away” by the Halo: The Fall of Reach movie script by Stuart Beattie (Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Australia, 30 Days of Night, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and the upcoming Gears of War film).
And while this is still considered a rumor, you have to take into account the fact that Dreamworks is looking for a big property that they could use to help launch their newly independent studio with Walt Disney Pictures after they lost the Transformers IP to Paramount. And what’s bigger than Halo?
Steven Spielberg needs no introduction as he is the mind behind some of the biggest films of all time, from Jaws to Shrek to Saving Private Ryan to Jurassic Park to Back to the Future to Munich.
And although I would’ve been very interested to see Peter Jackson’s take on the franchise. You could certainly do much worse than Steven Spielberg. So let’s hope this happens.
