Bethesda has confirmed that Wet will release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 15th in America/Canada and September 18th in Europe/Australia.

An acrobatic 3rd-person action game from developer Artificial Mind and Movement, Wet will hopefully help to fill the void that has been left from so many games being delayed to 2010.

“We’ve worked really hard to make Wet different from any other action game available,” said A2M Creative Director Patrick Fortier. “When players experience the game’s unique blend of gunplay, sword combat and acrobatics, they won’t want to put the controller down.”

Game Synopsis
Beautiful, graceful, brutal, and deadly . . . Rubi is a problem fixer. She fixes problems. She’s good at it. But when she agrees to fix a wealthy man’s problem by finding and bringing back his wayward son, she thinks it’s all going to be cut and dry. She thought wrong. The job wasn’t so simple. And the man who hired her isn’t who he appears to be. Now Rubi’s on the run, needing to find the man who left her for dead, leaving a massive body count in her wake.

Double-crosses. Enemies. Allies. Guns. Swords. Drugs. Old books. In an adventure that spans three continents, two warring factions, and one very pissed off problem fixer, Wet is a sexy, super-stylish action game that will keep the adrenaline pumping. Rubi is focused. Rubi is determined. Rubi is a problem fixer. Rubi is Wet.

Here is a hilarious new trailer for the game.

Key features of Wet include:

* Three Types of Gameplay – Seamlessly combines three types of gameplay: 360 degree slip-aiming mechanics, sword fighting and acrobatic abilities.
* Acclaimed Writer Duppy Demitrius – Written by Demitrius who is best known for his work on the action-packed TV series 24.
* Ultimate Interactive Action Experience – Over-the-top acrobatics with constant action that features aerial sword attacks, fantastic sword skills and high body count.
* Cinematographic Style – Unique retro film visual treatment with stylized over-the-top characters, an original 70’s inspired soundtrack and locations that span three continents.
* New Iconic Character – Rubi combines attitude, style and killer instinct.

And now for some actual gameplay footage . . .

Personally I’m pissed that they had to Quentin Tarantino it up. Now it’s a cheesy, f-word every other line, woman-full-of-attitude garbage that looks fun but also very repetitive. Sadly it just moved down several pegs on my list. I’ll buy it when it’s cheap.
