First ModNation Racers trailer
Sony has released the first trailer for ModNation Racers, their upcoming PS3-exclusive cart racer.
In ModNation Racers, players are given free reign to completely customize every aspect of the game (nearly), from the avatar to their car to the track they are racing on..
Tracks are editable via a very intuitive interface that lets players lay down the land with a cursor that they simply drag across the environment to change it. From creating gorges to laying down objects to lowering or raising the land.
Once you have created your track you will be able to share it for free online, just like in LittleBigPlanet, a game which shares the same tagline as ModNation Racers (Play. Create. Share.). The game is scheduled for release in 2010.

Cart Racers are also fun, and this game looks pretty fun. It’s kind of funny to see that developers are STILL creating cart racers modeled after the original Mario Kart games. But when Mario Kart Wii is still a top seller, why wouldn’t you? It’s great to see them adding quite a bit to it as well with all the customization. But it’s to be seen whether players will grasp onto a cart racer which doesn’t feature any iconic characters and instead features generic, albeit user-created, ones.
