New Command and Conquer: Red Alert coming to iPhone

Electronic Arts Mobile are bringing a brand new Command & Conquer: Red Alert RTS game to the iPhone and iPod Touch. It’s not a remake of the original Red Alert, but rather a completely unique game that seems to mix Red Alert 2 and 3.
First shown at E3 2009 where it was said to launch in late summer, but the latest episode of BattleCast Prime gives a demo of the game in action and states an expected Fall 2009 release window.
Here’s a list of notable facts:
* There will be both Allied and Soviet campaigns.
* The game features Construction Yard gameplay mechanics.
* It has 3D graphics, similar to Red Alert 3 and reminiscent of C&C N64. Everything is detailed and well animated.
* It’s not a straight port of any single Red Alert game. It appears to be a cross between Red Alert 2 and Red Alert 3.
* The Unit grouping, Zooming in & out, Mini-map, and Sidebar combinations are working well.
* The Soviet architecture resembles RA2, with Tesla Reactors and RA2 Barracks shown, yet War Bears from RA3 appear as well.
A new exclusive look at Red Alert for iPhone, 3:27 minutes into BattleCast Prime Episode 20:
All I have to say is “Finally!” I’ve been waiting since the 2004 release of the Nintendo DS for EA to release a touch screen-enabled C&C game. It’s even better on iPhone with a bigger screen and multi-touch interface.
