Day of the Tentacle sequel might appear as episodic Day of the Tentacle series

A Day of the Tentacle revival in the form of an episodic series ala Sam & Max from TellTale Games may be possible, or simply next in the line of cards after they release The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition . . . . depending on how that game sells, of course.
This was revealed in an interview with videogamer.com by TellTale CEO Dan Connors who said that “feasible is a good word” when asked about the chances of an episodic Day of the Tentacle series. “I always think of Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island as the big three franchises,” Connors continued.
He thinks that Day of the Tentacle/Maniac Mansion would be the next logical step, but they have taken a “wait and see” approach because it all depends on how well The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and the upcoming Tales of Monkey Island episodic series sells.
Ferry is a big fan of these classic adventure games. Unfortunately for me, I grew up without a computer of any kind and was thus a console-only kid. So I have never played any of these games.
Which is why I’m definitely looking forward to picking up The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition when it releases for Xbox Live Arcade and PC later this year.
And you should too. Hopefully these games sell well, because if they do we could see the rest of the LucasArts adventure games get re-releases or new titles or episodic series. Including beloved classics like Full Throttle, Grim Fandango or Loom.
