Red Faction Guerrilla promotion smashes car windows

Red Faction Guerrilla real-life destruction
What would you do for a free copy of THQ’s TPS (third-person shooter) Red Faction: Guerrilla? How does smashing a car in the middle of the street sound?!

Well that’s exactly what happened in London recently when average street walkers came across a locked down car with 100 new copies of Red Faction: Guerrilla inside. Those who took the time to analyze more closely would also notice that there was a sledgehammer chained to the vehicle . . . What for? So that you could get at the games inside of course!

This was all a nifty and highly unique promotion for the game by THQ. A game in which smashing things with a sledgehammer and general destruction of the environment and buildings around you, plays a very large part.

“Because Red Faction Guerrilla features the world’s most realistic destruction engine, we thought that it would make for an interesting experiment to find out how many people, going about their everyday business, would stop in a busy city street to work out some stress by smashing their way into a car to earn a copy of the brand new game,” THQ PR manager Simon Watts explained.
