MMOFPS Huxley has gone free-to-play
Korean publisher ijji has announced that their Massively Multiplayer First-Person Shooter (MMOFPS) Huxley has gone from a subscription-based model to a free-to-play one supported with microtransactions.

The game is currently in beta which you can join by trying to get a key via Fileplanet.

The game is also being developed for the Xbox 360, but at E3 2009 they announced that the Xbox 360 version will not be cross-compatible with the PC version. Sadly. The Xbox 360 version however will contain a single-player campaign absent from the PC edition of the game.

Here is a trailer for the game.

Wow, what a crappy trailer for a game that had potential to be good. Here’s what this trailer shows.

Choppy PVP, where even the player in the trailer has a hard time targeting the other player.

Choppy single player, where the frame rate seems to drop to single digits the moment you start firing a weapon.

This game is going to suffer from lag something awful. It will be like playing quake 2 online with dial up.
