First Dragon Ball: Raging Blast trailer

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast, the next DBZ game in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (due Fall 2009) will deliver a host of enhanced gameplay features, including completely destructible environments and HD graphics.

Developed by acclaimed game studio SPIKE, Dragon Ball: Raging Blast culls over 70 characters, including transformations, from the Dragon Ball Z tome to battle against each other throughout pivotal moments in the Dragon Ball series. This compares unfavorably to Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 featuring 162 playable characters with their own movements and combos. Dragon Ball Z aficionados will be able to relive epic battles as their favorite heroes and villains from the series and also experience alternate universe moments that were left out of the original anime and manga series.

New interactive and destructible environments lend an enhanced layer of intensity to the battle as characters can now take massive damage from being smashed into mountains, buildings and debris during intense battles ensuring epic Dragon Ball Z signature moves are delivered faithfully with devastating results. On top of classic signature moves, characters also benefit from a new “Super Rising” special attack system which allows players to quickly fly upwards throughout massive battle stages, adding a new layer of strategy and tactics to the melee.

Looking at the video, you can see Goku in his Super Saiyan 2 transformation. So unlike Burst Limit only going up to the Cell Saga, Raging Blast will include the Majin Buu Saga and probably more too.

I hope the game includes super sayin 4 and Characters from GT like Gogeta and Baby Vegeta and Shenron(the evil dragon with spikes at the end of GT)

I would like for the new dragonball game to have ALL the characters and the WHOLE story mode. I’m not bothered about the character creator, i would much rather want ALL the characters and the WHOLE story mode throughout dragonball, dragonball z, and dragonball GT. That would be the ultimate dragonball game, PLEASE!

70 characters seriously that’s poor its kinda disappointing to see this. I wished that it was a Playstation 3 exclusive since yet another next gen sequel is ruined by limited disc space from the Xbox 360

it would be nice if they had as many characters as before but dont you see this is a huge jump, the last game had like 31. were lucky to have gotten that, and as long as they keep making them some day they will have a complete story.

Actually kakarot, your wrong, they are going to make a third game with even more characters and a longer story then they will make another game that goes bak to 20-30 characters…they did it several times before, budokai trilogy, then tenkaichi trilogy, this is the 2nd game of their nxt trilogy…then they start from scratch with a new one…im just waiting for dragon ball online and playing tenkaichi 3 and i dont care to wait for the nxt 3rd game in the trilogy

So far the game looks to be promising and the graphics have made a noticeable improvement, but the fact alone that Namco now have license rights to the distribution and development of Dragon Ball titles is what matters more than anything. That and seeing Dr. Wheelo as a playable character; only then can I be truly happy with what there is left to see in the games of this very drawn-out series.
