Nintendo just announced Monolith Soft (of Xenosaga Episodes & Baten Kaitos fame) is developing Monado: Beginning Of The World for the Wii.
It may not be the Baten Kaitos 3 fans were waiting for. But in this Japanese RPG the main character’s gameplay looks like a nice mix between Baten Kaitos 2 and Final Fantasy XII. You can have two partners in your party, they’ll travel with you through detailed environments like lush forests, misty canyons and crumbled cities.

I haven’t a clue as to why Nintendo didn’t tell anyone about this big RPG and serveral other surprising Wii games (Line Attack Heroes & Span Smasher) until the last day of E3 2009!? But it’s a pleasant surprise none the less.
