Gran Turismo 5 revealed as next PS3-exclusive racing sim from Polyphony Digital

The long-awaited Gran Turismo 5 proper was finally unveiled at E3 2009 during Sony’s Press Conference.

The game is the next installment in the highly popular racing series exclusively for the PlayStation 3. And as you can see from the trailer below, the game has some incredible graphics.

The trailer showcases “new jaw-dropping cars, real-life tracks, and diverse racing styles. Gran Turismo promises to deliver exciting advancements to the series in the most comprehensive racing experience ever.”

Car damage has also been confirmed.

Looks great, but GT5 is getting to be the new Duke Nuke’em Forever. The release date has been around the corner for something like 3-4 years now. I guess we can always hope it will be out this year, but I wouldn’t bet money on it. More likely Christmas 2010 if the past is any indicator.
