The Saboteur E3 2009 trailer

The Saboteur videogame artwork. Coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
The Saboteur was announced at E3 2009 as the newest title from Pandemic Studios of Mercenaries and Destroy All Humans fame. The game is in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC for a release this Fall or Winter.

The Saboteur is an open-world action game set in the backdrop of World War II during a Nazi occupied France. You play as Irishmen Sean Devlin who is seeking revenge against the Nazi oppression.

The coolest aspect of The Saboteur is the game’s stylish graphics and how they play into the stealth-like gameplay. The Saboteur is entirely bathed in black and white with the only color coming from the imposing red swastikas of the Nazis. Naturally the stark color contrasts the dark hold that the men of evil have over the people. As you might expect, taking out Nazis and thus liberating the areas will return color to your world in dramatic, stylish fashion.

Taking in the latest trend of open-world titles, all objects and buildings in the environment are climbable, making the game look like a kind of noir Assassin’s Creed with very stylized graphics and Nazis galore. And like in most open-world titles you can also use various firearms and drive various vehicles on your missions. You can even hide inside various “adult” buildings to escape the Nazis. After you lose them and your character comes out, he will zip up his pants and be on his merry way.
