Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned RPG announced for PC, Xbox 360, PS3

Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned has been announced as the newest game from Disney-owned Propaganda Games, whose last title was the first-person shooter reboot Turok.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned is an open-world RPG with a storyline that takes place prior to the events that unfolded in the Pirates of the Caribbean films. It will be released in 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
As in most modern Western-developed RPGs, players will make moral choices that will effect their character, the game’s world, and the game’s storyline depending on what decisions you decide to make; As players take control of a pirate.
Thankfully the developers have some good talent onboard including Dan Trudge, the Vice President and manager of Propaganda who recently left BioWare where he was working on their high-profile RPG Dragon Age: Origins.
In a statement, he said, “Our team’s collective experience with industry-leading RPGs and action titles provides a strong foundation for us to create and build a compelling action role-playing title.”
Here is a portion of a recent interview with the developers from IGN.
IGN Though not an RPG, clearly Sid Meier’s Pirates! is the best pirate game ever made. How would you compare your RPG to some of the elements seen in Sid Meier’s game?
Alex Peters: I think that Sid Meier’s Pirates is great. Similarly, we want to make sure our game creates a sense a freedom in how you decide to live your pirate life. We are trying to make experiences in the Caribbean similar to those featured in the movies so you can expect to see some supernatural elements mixed in with realism.
IGN: Is the bulk of the game on sea or are there significant portions of exploration on land?
Alex Peters: The exploration will be a mixture of both land and sea and it’s up to the player to choose how much time they spend in each.
