More solid details have been revealed for DJ Hero, the upcoming Activision DJ game.
As some had speculated, shots like the one above only revealed part of the controller. In addition the DJ Hero turntable will include a second component that clips onto it and includes a Cross Fader, effects dial, a “Euphoria” button which initiates what amounts to “Star Power” and the D-Pad and control pad buttons which are hidden beneath a flip-up cover.
In DJ Hero there are only three notes as you can see on the controller above. So to give the game more depth you will need to have the Cross Fader in the right position. You will also contend with scratching sections that replace sustained guitar notes and take the form of small arrows in a colored line that tell you which way you need to turn the “record”.
In addition, Game Informer (who got the exclusive reveal of the details above) also released a few of the songs that will appear in the game:
* “Feel Good Inc.” (Gorillaz) vs “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” (Marvin Gaye)
* “Jayou” (Jurassic 5) vs “Rockit” (Herbie Hancock)
* “Bustin’ Loose” (Chuck Brown) vs “Time of the Season” (The Zombies, DJ Shadow Mix)
* “All Apologies” (Nirvana) vs “Give It to Me Baby” (Rick James, DJ Shadow Mix)
* “Let’s Dance” (David Bowie) vs “Jack of Spades” (KRS One, DJ Shadow Mix)
* “Shout” (Tears for Fears) vs “Pjanoo” (Eric Prydz)
Still no platforms for the game announced yet. But we are sure to learn much more at E3 which is next month from June 2-4th.
