The classic Flashback game returns on iPhone

If you are a fan of classic cinematic platformers then you’ll be glad to see Flashback for iPhone. The game is available for purchase now at the cheap price of $5. Early reviews though suggest that the game has some control issues as it is difficult to jump and fire at the same time using the on-screen control buttons. It’s also apparently a port of an open-source version and not the original code. Either way it’s not a bad way to go at $5 for some portable gaming.

Flashback is a post-apocalyptic cyber-punk game with a deep storyline and graphics that were state-of-the-art at the time thanks to its unusually fluid, rotoscoped animation.

In the game you play as Conrad B. Hart who is trying to regain his lost memory in a dystopian world. On your quest you’ll uncover conspiracies, aliens, and tons of plot twists as you searches for the truth. The game makes for a solid, if not highly original, science fiction story. However Flashback is very difficult if you have not played it before and don’t know what to do. That’s because you need to know exactly where to use items in order to get through the game. If you haven’t played it before then expect to spend quite a lot of time figuring out where to go and what to do. Course, you could always use a guide. But come on! Old school problems need old school solutions! Use your brain!
