World At War Map Pack 1 now downloaded 2 million times
Activision has announced that the Call of Duty: World At War Map Pack 1 has surpassed the two-million sold mark. That’s a lot of downloaded maps!
The pack was released this past March and contained three new multiplayer maps (Nightfire, Knee Deep and Station) along with a fourth Nazi Zombie map called “Verrückt” (Zombie Asylum). It also came with new weapons, new Perks-a-Cola machines and new electroshock defenses.
“This is a huge milestone and we are so appreciative of our incredibly supportive community who continue to play and enjoy the game,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch. “We’re hard at work on Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 and look forward to delivering that in June.”
The Call of Duty: World At War Map Pack 2, announced last week, adds an additional three new multiplayer maps and one Japanese zombie map, detailed below.
Banzai: Fight for control of a tall, river bridge, deep within enemy territory.
Corrosion: Face down foes in a shattered Russian train yard.
Sub-Pens: Struggle to control a bombed-out submarine base in the close-quarter map.
“Shi No Numa” (Zombie Swamp) – Imperial Zombies rise from misty swamps in an all new co-op experience, with a level that features a mix of traps, flaming Hell Hounds, Perk machines and the deadly, new Wunderwaffe DG-2.
