On Xbox Live Arcade today: Arkanoid Live, Space Invaders Extreme, Zombie Wranglers

From today, at 9AM GMT (2AM PDT), you can play Taito’s Arkanoid Live on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360. Arkanoid Live will be available worldwide (except in Australia or New Zealand) for 800 Microsoft Points (that’s US$10 / €9.60 / £6.80 / CAN$12.40).

The classic Arkanoid comes back to life in XBLA! In Arkanoid Live you must destroy every block on screen by bouncing an Energy Ball against them with your Vaus!

Gameplay footage is from the DS version, as the XBLA game is an enhanced port of that game. — This game requires the Xbox 360 hard drive or the 512MB Memory Unit for storage.

Game features include:
* Arcade classic: Arkanoid was one of the all-time classic arcade games that sparked a huge number of imitators. Now you can play the game in glorious high-def.
* Tons of gameplay: The full version contains 62 rounds divided into two episodes that can be played under either Lives Rules or Barrier Rules. A boss awaits you in the last round of each episode: DOH, as well as a new boss, SKULL.

Superb sound and visuals grace Space Invaders Extreme, a high-definition experience that stays true to the Space Invaders aesthetic. The XBLA version comes with an added bonus: the Visualizer System, where the music subtly changes as the background movie changes. You’ll also be able to challenge other players over Xbox LIVE, including in Score Attack mode, as well as play cooperatively to take on the invaders as a team!
