Brain Training is coming to the PC with “Brain Exercise with Dr. Kawashima” from Namco Bandai Games.

Supervised by prominent Japanese neuroscientist (that’s “brain scientist” to you and me) Dr. Kawashima, who was made famous with Nintendo’s “Brain Age” series, this newest title gathers all-time brain stimulating game favorites intended to keep your mind sharp and active and puts them on one disc for PC and “Games For Laptop” mini-DVD. The game will be released in PAL regions and across Europe on May 29, 2009. The game has not been announced for other regions yet. You will also be able to download Brain Exercise with Dr. Kawashima digitally at the Atari Store.

Overall the game consists of 36 quick mini exercises. These are divided into three color-coded categories that correspond to the three main parts, or “lobes”, of the brain: frontal, parietal and temporal. Puzzles will consist of simple arithmetic, memory games and puzzles. All games are played with the PC mouse and keyboard with pointing, clicking and simple keystrokes. Stat progress will be tracked through result charts and can be shared online via worldwide leaderboards at the official Brain Exercise web-site.

Like with other Dr. Kawashima games, the famous doctor believes that our brains need regular exercise just like our bodies in order to stay healthy. That can be accomplished by regularly playing the mini-games provided in Brain Exercise. Games that are meant to keep your brain active by only spending a few moments everyday playing the game in front of your computer. This will help your brain fight its natural decline in its abilities as you age. And the new “Games for Laptop” mini-DVD version is ideal for laptop users who travel often as it can be easily taken with you due to its small size.
