Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will receive online multiplayer co-operative and competitive modes announced publisher Sony and developer Naughty Dog!
The highly anticipated PS3-exclusive sequel to Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune will feature up to 10 players in 5-versus-5 competitive play or allow for up to 3-player online co-op via unique multiplayer modes in which players progress through a variety of environments by working together to accomplish set objectives.
Using a robust party system, groups of players will remain together in ranked and custom matches while earning currency, which used in combination with currency earned in single player missions, will unlock additional content and upgrades.
Competitive multiplayer modes include Team Death Match and a unique mode called “Capture the Treasure”. Capture the Treasure is a unique multiplayer competition “that encourages team work to transport a treasure over dynamic terrain such as ledges and obstacles.” The mode brings “truly vertical game play to traditional multiplayer modes with maps based on environments taken from the single player campaign.” The maps will take players from the night time streets of a war torn city to a Nepalese village. Additionally players have the ability to create custom games allowing them to play any type of game on any map.
And they aren’t kidding about “true vertical gameplay”. You’ll witness guys throwing dudes over ledges, hanging and swinging from lamp posts, and even hiding and shooting from behind freaking airborne signs! The multiplayer truly looks intense and like a whole lot of fun. And even better than that, it looks unique!

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the story of Nathan Drake, a fortune-hunter with a shady reputation and an even shadier past who is lured back into the treacherous world of thieves and mercenary treasure-seekers. The tenth game by premier PS3 system developer Naughty Dog, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves allows players to take control of Drake and embark on a journey that will push him to his physical, emotional and intellectual limits to discover the real truth behind the lost fleet of Marco Polo and the legendary Himalayan valley of Shambhala.
