New Alien vs. Predator game to be true next-gen

Alien versus Predator 3 will look like this, only times a thousand

Aliens versus Predator 3 is set to re-ignite the gaming world as developer Rebellion takes the beloved first-person franchise to current-gen consoles and PC; In order to deliver a true “next-gen” experience.

Like the original PC first-person shooter released way back in 1999, this new game will once again star three player classes: Aliens, Predators and Marines. As before, each character class will have its own unique special powers and abilities in a rock-paper-scissors-style of gameplay where the abilities balance each other class out during multiplayer.

The game is set 30 years after the Aliens film on a new planet. A planet that has already been colonized for around 20 years and has an atmosphere that can support human life. However during one excavation, the Colony discovers some ancient ruins, which catch the attention of Weyland Yutani, who begins to search for more ruins throughout the planet.

. . . However that was seven years ago. The Colony found what they were looking for. But they couldn’t contain it.

The single-player campaign will include a different campaign mode for each of the three classes. And the storylines will even directly deal with the 20th Century Fox films of of the same name.

Rebellion also says that they have many ideas that they are putting in this new game that they originally wanted to include in the previous two games. And with the technology they have in their hands now, they are able to push things further than ever before.

Features from the previous games will also return such as the key, iconic weapons and equipment from the original 1999 AvP and they are using that as their basis for the gameplay in this new entry in the series.

More information on this game can be seen in the six-page feature in PSW magazine.
