Big Huge Games is one of the more recent studios who is about to go under. As such, two of their recent in-development properties have been cancelled.

The first was called God: The Game. In development for Wii, it mixed elements of Zelda, The Settlers and Animal Crossing, with very cute art and a style that was very similar to both games. Maybe too similar.

The other game was an epic fantasy RPG called The Ascendant in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game was further along in development than God: The Game and even had a rough trailer.

However now that Big Huge Games is either up for sale or on the verge of closer, both of these games will be kissing the dirt unless the company gets bought out. Which may happen, as rumors suggest that 38 Studios (retired baseball star Curt Schilling’s development house) is in discussions to buy them out. Which, if they do get bought out, may save the two above titles.

For lots of screenshots and art assets for both games check out Kotaku.
