Team ICO’s new PS3 game in essence “similar to ICO”
At a Game Developer’s Conference 2009 panel called “Evolving Game Design”, the creative lead of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus at Team ICO, Fumito Ueda, discussed his new project . . . or rather, mentioned it but only briefly, refusing to answer anymore questions.
He brought up the subject of the games his fellow panelists were working on, which then came back to him. At which point he said the following:
“Probably, it will be similar to… um . . . Well, the essence of the game is similar to ICO.”
“Who is your partner?” Suda of Grasshopper prodded.
“Don’t ask me anymore!”
Alas, that’s all that could be pried from the mouth of the beast, but at least he confirmed that not only is it similar to ICO in some form, but also that’s still under development. Good things all around methinks.
