One million gold farmers in China!
The number of “gold-farmers” in China is estimated at over one million. Gold farming is the act of repeatedly collecting items of value in an MMORPG (usually by exploitative means) with the intention of selling them at a higher price.
Large gold-selling firms can use up to 1,000 players to generate all their in-game products, one of those firms is a company called SwagVault, reports EuroGamer.
“The yearly turnover for all these enterprises combined is estimated at over 10 billion US dollars” according to one specific trader.
