Beyonce will play Rhythm Heaven in new DS TV ads. Her favorite games are Guitar Hero, Tetris, Super Mario Bros.
Nintendo has revealed that their TV ad spokesperson for the upcoming DS game Rhythm Heaven will be none other than pop superstar Beyonce.
The game from the creators that brought you WarioWare will be getting a big push here in the United States by Nintendo who have tapped the singer to do the TV commercials for the game, hoping to hit a much broader female audience than they would otherwise.
Beyonce also discussed videogames with Entertainment Weekly’s “The Music Mix blog” where she mentioned that her favorite videogames include Guitar Hero, Tetris and Super Mario Bros.
ET: What are some of your other favorite videogames?
Beyonce: I like all the Wii games. Love Guitar Hero. This reminds me a little bit of a portable Guitar Hero, which is great, because I don’t want to carry around a big guitar! Growing up, I liked Tetris. I even like BrickBreaker on the BlackBerry.
ET: What was the first game system you had when you were growing up?
Beyonce: A Nintendo. I would play Super Mario Bros. We weren’t supposed to play it after 9 o’clock, and I would sneak and play all night. I loved it.
