Killzone 2 co-operative multiplayer modes may be something that the developers will add in the future.
So says an interesting and in-depth article from PlayStation UK on why the developers over at Guerrilla Games came to the decisions that they did regarding every aspect of the game, from their desire to keep it in the first-person perspective at all times to the balancing act they had to employ to make sure the game worked how they envisioned.
Buried inside the article is this little nugget:
While this meant sacrificing split screen gameplay, there may be some co-operative modes on the horizon to keep the excitement going. “We’re investigating [co-op] now for downloadable content,” she smiles. “We’re looking at what would be the nicest possible things for downloadable content. We’ve already started on maps… we’re not allowed to talk about anything else unfortunately!”
Seems like co-op play is a given going by that statement.
Yesssssssssssss!!! This is exciting news.
It is exciting indeed! Co-op always adds a lot to a game because while it’s fun to play multiplayer against people, it’s always interesting to work together with a friend.
