Dynasty Warriors 7 will be better than 6, says creator

The official Koei UK website did a video interview with the creator of Dynasty Warriors 6, producer Takashi Morinaka from Koei’s internal development team Omega Force. The next game in the series, the Dynasty Warriors 7 hint, is quoted below. But another sequel won’t come as a surprise to long-time fans of the Hack-and-Slash series.

Question: Are you satisfied with how Dynasty Warriors 6 turned out?
Answer: “I believe that we as developers have only begun to scratch the surface of what can be done with this new generation of consoles. Dynasty Warriors 6 has advanced in many areas and is the best we can do at this time. Still, fans [of the main Dynasty Warriors series] can look forward to even better games in the future.”

Here’s the interview with him answering questions about Dynasty Warriors 6 and at the end hinting at Dynasty Warriors 7.

im a huge dw fan and i think 6 is no different to the rest, its still brilliant!!. However where are all the swords?. A lot of character design has taken a turn for the worst. Also i think its too easy to raise up levels as in the old games it took ages to get to the top and the horses could have a little more depth aswell.yet the fluidity of attacks and good graphics make up for it.

Thought of something else for koei. How’s about throwing in a character ( or for created characters) that use hook swords. Afterall they are traditionally a Chinese weapon used by shaolin monks. ( not surea what they are look at kanal from mortal kombat)

I was a little discouraged with dw6 ,I just felt that a lot of the warrior’s moves all just ran the same way compared to all the other dw’s .they have always had there own distict fighting styles and moves I hope we get back to each there own in dw7 iam a hude fan thanks for the countless hours of fun.

Ok I was reading through a few of the other comments posted and wow if they could put us all in a room give us a week it would be the game among games .bring back the body gaurds let us the player have some creative control on customs ,maybe even a weopon depot were we choose the weopons for the characters but anyways I must stress the point they all need their own styles.redundant is boring you have to want to build up other characters not do one and be done with the game.

I didn’t go anywhere near DW6. It was clearly just an interim game while Koei got their act together and upgraded the franchise to next gen consoles.

Unfortunately, I think they lost quite a few fans with the halfway ob they did in DW6.

I’m hoping DW7 completes the picture – it needs bodyguards, unique styles and weapons for each character, ALL characters, good voice acting and well-designed environments.

The definitive DW game will be where Koei bring together the most fun game in the series (DW2, by a long way), the most well-written game (Samurai Warriors) and translate them into next gen graphics and physics.

They need to stop taking away Characters- some of my favorite Characters were removed from Dynasty Warriors 6, and thats why I didnt even bother to buy it.

I’m pretty excited for DW 7 because I have DW 5, but was kind of ‘in space’ for a while, because I still don’t have DW 6. I just saw some sites about it, and I feel like doing a version with styles more in 5 than 6 would be better. The styles in DW 6 to me, I don’t know, just seemed like all the girls were to frilly. And what was with the weapon changes for people like Yue Ying, Zhen Ji, and Diao Chan? Since I haven’t played 6 i guess I can’t determine which ones were better, but i thought the whole, flute, mace, kinda stuff was cool. Also, in 4, possibly, I kinda liked that pointless little burst of sparkle/flair/whatever move you could do when you pushed in the right stick, it added a little something. Well, my comments may not be the most wanted in the world, but at least I contributed. P.S. I’m sure however you do DW 7, it’ll be great.

DW7 should have like a different storyline. cuz like the other dyanasties are the same. Like, also each character should have there own story. so the game could be more longer and challenging. Also at least add like important character like the siblings and wifes. DW needs more chicks.

Pleaseeeeee give there old weapons back they were so good and can u please put create a Charecter im a Ultimate Fan ill change my name to Sun ce thats how much i want dis please. i reallyyyyyyyyyyy want to create a charecter and do online thats how i want my Dynasty Warriors to be its my life :C
