Dynasty Warriors 7 will be better than 6, says creator

The official Koei UK website did a video interview with the creator of Dynasty Warriors 6, producer Takashi Morinaka from Koei’s internal development team Omega Force. The next game in the series, the Dynasty Warriors 7 hint, is quoted below. But another sequel won’t come as a surprise to long-time fans of the Hack-and-Slash series.

Question: Are you satisfied with how Dynasty Warriors 6 turned out?
Answer: “I believe that we as developers have only begun to scratch the surface of what can be done with this new generation of consoles. Dynasty Warriors 6 has advanced in many areas and is the best we can do at this time. Still, fans [of the main Dynasty Warriors series] can look forward to even better games in the future.”

Here’s the interview with him answering questions about Dynasty Warriors 6 and at the end hinting at Dynasty Warriors 7.

What would you like to see in Dynasty Warriors 7?

It would be awsome to bring back the ability to creat your own charator. Also it would be nice to bring back body guards too.

it would be very nice if they keep the characters old weapons back on them and give them better designs on their outfits ….not many of them look good.also if they put in their old special attacks back in it would be great.

all the charactors from all the old ones plus the bodyguards and to createur own charactor,and create ur own bodyguards.u know just like ur own charactor plus the mode from dw5xl where u start as a peon and work ur way up but make it a little longer than dw5xl had.

I do like a lot of the new things that they have done. the new attack system is sick and i like the fact that it seems unrepititive. I also love the idea of having bases and gates and things. Some suggestions are this though; one is to bring back verses mode. another is to add more charectors. And maybe even a mode where you can play with someone like you do in co-op, but play on opposite sides. Or have a mode where you have to fight as a private and work your way up to an officer.

hi! i am a massive fan of DW and i think there should be a couple of things to add to the new DW like:
create a character
online (both against and co-op)
for online, maybe you could have two teams and you have to take over all of the bases to win. i think that would be fun and you can use your created character and level them up ? hope you ike the ideas !

i think it would be nice to make mission player 1 vs player 2 and the special,s from dynasty warriors strikeforce are also nice
but there could also be much bigger battles with more enemies in the field than normal
and maybe also a map of china where you could play a charachter from lvl 1 to 100 with city,s like online games

I would like to see duels like in Dynasty Warriors 4 and also the RS announcement move that sends a shockwave.
And yes CAW is very important in this game to me. Bodyguards are cool, but they kick the shit out of everything once their the highest level. Taking the challenge out of the game.

I was VERY disappointed in DW6. All of the games have the same feel to it. And this one felt like a cheaply put together game. Or one of those games that had little time put into it. Their was characters that had the same finishing attack, their was no story lines but a few and I loved finished all the story modes in the game. Yeah the whole, horses in water and climbing ladders are fun. But everything else was a huge flop. Even getting the horses wasn’t even fun. Where the hell was red hare? My girlfriend got this game, and I was very disappointed in it, so much that I didn’t even buy it. And i’ve gotten them all, but 6.

agree with Paul, between 5 and 6 Ling Tong went from one of my top 3 characters to my bottom 3, the nunchuks had galleons of potentialwith the renbu system, I do hope the bring it back. As for the outfits, i want to see more vibrant, out there colours, with a whole lot of the scarf, cape and sort of stuf, love seeing games with dramatic, free flowing outfits. it adds a bit of grace and elegace to any in game moves. wouldn’t mind seeing more personalised horses, and the return of destiny and xtreme mode, probably my moe favoured modes as the series has progressed.

Let’s see. They should definitly give the characters their original weapons and fighting styles back. The whole stylesharing thing sucks. The create a character and body gaurds would be nice. How the ability to command units to hold, attack, defend areas via map. Some gore would make it more appealing, blood splatter on the ground. Several new characters, not one or two but like 10, a whole new faction, shu wu and Wei kinda gets boring. Weapon system from orochi. Leveling system too. More NEW costume designs. Armor item that is visible equipped to player. Horse armor, again visible. Custum skirmish maps, that you can setup, make it one vs hundred or whatever. Indepth create a character with hundreds of items.
