Dynasty Warriors 7 will be better than 6, says creator

The official Koei UK website did a video interview with the creator of Dynasty Warriors 6, producer Takashi Morinaka from Koei’s internal development team Omega Force. The next game in the series, the Dynasty Warriors 7 hint, is quoted below. But another sequel won’t come as a surprise to long-time fans of the Hack-and-Slash series.

Question: Are you satisfied with how Dynasty Warriors 6 turned out?
Answer: “I believe that we as developers have only begun to scratch the surface of what can be done with this new generation of consoles. Dynasty Warriors 6 has advanced in many areas and is the best we can do at this time. Still, fans [of the main Dynasty Warriors series] can look forward to even better games in the future.”

Here’s the interview with him answering questions about Dynasty Warriors 6 and at the end hinting at Dynasty Warriors 7.

What would you like to see in Dynasty Warriors 7?

grrrr not happy

i agree that the characters need to be brought back, including zou ci to the stroy of all the characters was awesome. especially the conspiracy that he might have killed cao cao and liu bei. i think you should bring back axed characters, but serious;ly guys….come on. lets get the characters sorted, stop lu bu looking like a pissy little emo and give him a decent weapon. his last one in dynasty 6 was so aweful that it ruined him completely.

I personally think that dw 3 was the best.Loads of you will disagree but i was brought up playing these games and dw 3 was the one that i prefer above the rest. I say bring back the characters in that,improve the fighting system e.g.More combo variations and charge attacks.I think if the maps in dw3 were to be expanded a little they would be great.Wu zhang plains on dw 3 now that was a great map to play.And the yellow turban rebellion map in dw 3 was so much more better compared to the rest of em. Basically make dw 7 a faster and crazier version of dw 3.
And another thing Lu bu was such a immpossible to beat badass in dw 3 make him like that again and FFS give xhihoa dun(howevr u spell it) his huge sword back.
One thing about the older games is that my ko count neva seemed to get over a 1200 in dw7 id like it to reach about 6000 on bigger maps with more orginality and more epic senarios.(Like making mt ding jun a really big mountain that takes ages to get up the top .

Basicly i didn’t mind dw7 its jus i like the way they all look now, i like the graphics too but i would also like if you brought back the dueling system back as well and same as Nick said i think dw3 has been the best so far yh like on dw3 an the 1st dw lu bu was an impossible bad ass officer that i would really like to fight again now on dw7 hes more of a push over than anything but anyway all i would like to se in dw7 now is the dueling system brought back and all the officers have they’er moves back because i noticed that only 5 officers of each team had individual and unique moves everyone else had the same as one another so yeah bring back they’er moves and also like nick you need to make the game feel like a fight so a really big battlfield way more than about 1500 enemys on each map and lots and i mean lots of different cut scenes during fights and start and end of a fight an make like each base like a proper castle that you have to climb and destroy it would be a lot better to if you could have your very own bodygaurds back depending on your rank and speaking of rank but your rank level should be able to go way past 50.
so yeah these were my ideas for dw7 its jus basicly bring back everything from the recent dw series an put them on dw7 thank you

three and four were definately the best, i agree with Nickk on the Xiahou Dun sword aspect, the sword (or lack of) made me feel guilty playing 6, for all its graphics, its the simpler stuff like boss strength that stays in your mind. Combos seemed to be watered down with every game, a bit more pace on the game, so you wont just stand around untill a peasant feels brave and pokes you, but rather charge and swarm you. the charge attacks have loads of potential, and if you are unlock the faction leader, why not let you have some control over the battle, a slight mix of Empires and the standard DW.

if theres one thing id want back more than ever, its Xiahou Duns brilliant sword, not a spiky pole as slow that makes him fight like an armoured cave man, in one DW you could unlock the last games charachter skin, that was a good touch swept under the carpet, as many missions as possible and a couple of classic maps to unlock, DW7 will probably suprise all of us, just think some things from the past are being missed.

First thing i hope you will add the old characters like jiang wei, xing cai and da qiao and please don’t remove any characters. Then I want also more new characters, online, a characters creation, more weapons and don’t forget the horses and make it on 1080 HD resolution and thank you for reading.

I would like to see the duel option in the main menu, and even in gameplay. Free play would also be nice, please keep that.

More characters would also be nice, because if there is over 700 officers in the history of the three kingdoms, and Koei has transformed only about 50…well..you get my point. I personally liked the duel system in DW4(the gameplay, i forget if you have the duel option in the main menu).

Im glad that the graphics got loads better, especially in DW6E.

I have no idea why Koei decided to take out Da qiao, and have the other sister in the game…

Why not transform Sima Zhao and Sima Shi, after all, they did create the Jin dynasty, which eventually united China. Why not transform Wen Chou, and Yan Liang, and Wang Shuang. All of which were great warriors.

Overall, i would like to see much more characters, i definitely would not want to see anything deleted. And since Koei sadly does not want to make any more sequels, both for DW, and RTK, then at least make the last sequel the best, thank you Koei.

GUYS DONT FORGET ALSO ALL CHARACTERS HAVE MOSOUS MODE LOL. DW5 WAS GOOD TO ESPECHIALLY PANG DE. THE TROOPS SHOULD LOOK LIKE THE ONES IN DW3. DEY LOOKED LIKE REAL SAMAURIS AND SHOULD DO MOUSES ALSO AND FIGHT LIKE IN DW3 AND THE WEAPONS THEY ALSO HAD IN DW3.BODYGUARDS WOULD BE NICE ALSO BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE BETTER IF U HAD UR OWN TROOPS FOLLOWIN U. EVEN THO U KILLED THE TROOPS OFFICER THEY SHOULDNT RETREAT DEY SHOULD STAY AND FIGHT TILL THE END LIKE IN DW3. ZHANG FEI SON ZHAO BAO SHOULD BE A CHARACTER TO AND LAIO LOUA {DONT KNOW HOW TO SPELL IT AN OFFICER FROM SHU} ALSO CAO HONG AND LI DIAN. MINE AS WELL PUT EVERY OFFICER A CHARACTER LOL DONT HAVE TO MAKE NEW CHARACTERS WIT NEW NAMES. IF UR LIKE THE LEADERS FROM SHU WEI AND WU,LIKE CAO CAO FOR EXAMPLE U SHOULD CONTROL THE BATTLE TELLING UR OFFICERS WHERE TO GO LIKE EMPIRES. I ALSO LIKED MAO CHAO OLD COSTUME WITH HIS DRAGON ARMOUR AND HELMET. I ALSO WOULD LIKE IF DERES ALOT OF REINFORCEMENTS GOIN ON, ON BOTH SIDES AND AMBUSHES. ALSO IF U USE UR TRUE SPEED U COULD RUN ON WATER LIKE THE INTRO LIKE WEN ZHAO YUN RUNNING. ALSO DONT MAKE THE TROOPS AND OFFICERS WEN THEY DIE DISAPEAR, LEAVE THEM COMPLETELY DERE.
