Dynasty Warriors 7 will be better than 6, says creator

The official Koei UK website did a video interview with the creator of Dynasty Warriors 6, producer Takashi Morinaka from Koei’s internal development team Omega Force. The next game in the series, the Dynasty Warriors 7 hint, is quoted below. But another sequel won’t come as a surprise to long-time fans of the Hack-and-Slash series.

Question: Are you satisfied with how Dynasty Warriors 6 turned out?
Answer: “I believe that we as developers have only begun to scratch the surface of what can be done with this new generation of consoles. Dynasty Warriors 6 has advanced in many areas and is the best we can do at this time. Still, fans [of the main Dynasty Warriors series] can look forward to even better games in the future.”

Here’s the interview with him answering questions about Dynasty Warriors 6 and at the end hinting at Dynasty Warriors 7.

first of all…
GIVE DIAN WEI HIS AXE BACK!!!!!! that ball an chain sucks
dont give all weapons back, lubu’s 4 way skypiercer in 6 is so much better, give made up officers some random storylines maybe, and maybe be able to give them mixed combo’s like zhou yuns weapon and style with liu bei’s musou or something instead of edit officers havin same as the persons weapon except looks
put characteristics into story mode, like playing zhuge liang cud be made really hard by having to say when certain elements of the battle happen and where, like ambushes
or dian wei is cao cao’s body guard, so most his fights wud include protecting cao cao
keep the horse whistle aswel
and maybe a story line as a soldier being promoted

I think new maps and characters should be downloadable content. More musou modes would be awesome. Also the weapon that looks like a club is just not satisfying. Good job with dw6 but take our constructive critism to heart otherwise die-hard fans will be lost. Thank you

Please bring back Da Qiao. Her and her sister are fun characters. Give Sun Shang Shiang her dual blades back; that crossbow sucks. Keep the ambush system where you can surprise people by jumping into areas of the castles. Also, bring back musou for every character. Being a girl, my favorite musou modes were the Qiao sisters because they are interesting characters. Please bring that back.

BEEN A FAN SINCE DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 AND WHAT I CAN SAY IS THAT HONESTLY I EXPECTED MORE OF THE GAME (DYNASTY WARRIORS 6) IS NOT BAD BUT I KNOW YOU GUYS COULD’VE DONE SO MUCH BETTER. LOVE THE RENBU SYSTEM SINCE YOU CAN KEEP ATTAKING BUT I WOULD LIKE SO THAT WE CAN USE SPECIAL ATTACKS MORE OFTEN BECAUSE THERE COOL RELYING ON THEM FROM TOMES SUCKS BECAUSE WE ONLY GET TO TO THEM LIKE ONCE OR TWICE PER SCENERAIO. IT WOULD BE COOL TO HAVE A MUSOU MODE FOR AT LEAST ALL CHARACTERS FROM WEI,SHU AND WU AND LU BU. PERSONAL THINGS MAKE VARIETY FOR CHARACTERS LIKE FOR EXAMPLE TO HAVE DIFERENT KINDS OF WEAPONS(NOT ONLY THEIR STANDARD TYPE) FOR AT LEAST SOME CHARACTERS. PLEASE DON’T CUT CHARACTERS ADD NEW ONES LIKE CHENG PU(WU) AND YU YIN(WEI) WHO APPEAR IN ALMOST EVERY BATTLE FORM WEI AND WU. IF YOU ARE GOING TO CUT CHARACTERS, CUT TAISHI CI. HE SUCKS.
