Resident Evil for GameCubeResident Evil is famous for taking videogame survival horror to an entirely new level that had never been seen before in the land of videogame pixels. The first Resident Evil combined a lack of ammo and health items with a great and haunting soundtrack and spooky environments to create an atmosphere of fear that was unparalleled at the time. Mix in big, bad bosses with lots of firearms and puzzles as plenty as zombies and you have a mix for success.

Unlike a lot of typical Retrospectives this one is very interesting because of how the retrospective looks into Capcom’s roots (a game called Sweet Home) and other interesting details that aren’t widely known or mentioned (such as creator Shinji Mikami’s previous projects). It also looks all of the other ports of Resident Evil including Resident Evil: Deadly Silence on the DS (A game I still want to track down) and the differences between all of the various versions.
