Killzone 2 downloadable content coming. Think maps

Killzone 2 box confirms DLC
Like most big-hitting console games, Killzone 2 will be getting downloadable content post-launch through the PS3’s PlayStation Network. If you look at the network features listed on the back of the box, you’ll clearly see the boxart states: “add-on content”. PSGUK muses (and looking at Halo & Gears games I agree) that there’s a big chance this will be the usual Map Packs.

Eight multiplayer maps are already included on the Blu-ray disc at release on February 25th (EU), 26th (AU) or 27th (US); they are: Tharis Depot, Pyrrhus Ris, Blood Gracht, Cornith Crossing, Helghan Industries, Radec Academy, Salamun Market, and Visari Hammer. Vehicles have also been confirmed to be part of the multiplayer experience and will be made downloadable post-release as a patch update to the main game.

Luckily for fans, in 2008 developer Guerrilla Games had stated that further maps will be made available as future downloadable content. FeedonPS3 claims this was said to be free content! But seeing as to how much Sony love to charge for DLC on other first-party titles like LittleBigPlanet, I doubt it’ll be free.
